![]() | Angel has pop eye?? help!! |
zerosix![]() Fingerling Posts: 19 Votes: 1 Registered: 27-Jun-2004 ![]() ![]() | i can't believe i didn't notice this before (boy do i feel stupid now) but i do believe my gold angel has pop eye. i had a good look at her/him this morning and compared it to the blush angel's eyes and the gold one's eyes are more popped out than the blush angel's eyes. the gold one doesn't eat much, she/he will just wait for the food to go down to the bottom of the tank. is there any form of meds i could give it? i've read the other topics about giving them pennicillin or epsom salt, but those fish mentioned were not angels. so please, if anyone could help me out here asap as to what i can treat the tank with please get back to me soon!!! thank you! |

Fluid builds up in the fish forcing the eyes to protrude, a signal that kidney failure is taking place. The fish lose their appetite, bloat and eventually die. You can try the antibiotic "Gentamycin", dosed according to directions, in the hopes of catching this bacterial disease in time before the fish starts to bloat. --garyroland. |

The car won't roll and the antibiotic won't "treat". Let's take a look at what Webster has to say: "Biotic: The inherent capacity of an organism or species to reproduce and survive." Of course we all know what "anti" means. There's just not enough "anti" in most antibiotics to treat Dropsy/Pop-Eye. There may be enough "anti" in Gentamycin, the drug of choice to arrest the early stages of Dropsy, to make a difference. I emphasize "may". --garyroland. |
