I have a 46gal tank that appears to have an small outbreak of ich. The tank contains bettas, tetras, rasboras, a platy, cories, and ottos. My understanding is that tetras, cories, and ottos are all sensitive to most of the meds for ich. I thought Rid-Ich was the best choice, so I did about a 75% dose today. Then at the store, I found this Ich-Attach organic stuff.

Anybody know if this stuff works? I bought it in case people think it's great, but I also bought more Rid-Ich. Tomorrow afternoon it will be time for the second dose, so I'm hoping to hear some opinions by then!

thanks,
-Dennis

What does it have in it? how does it work?

It could just be super-strong organically grown garlic which may or may not work at this stage in the infection, i'd be hesitant to trial it on an entire tank myself.

It's contents are:

"5% active ingredients (multiple natural herbals containing Naphthoquinone) and 95% inert ingredients"

I couldn't really tell you HOW it works, but you dose it the same as Rid-Ich (it is made by the same company.)

Ive used the organic PREVENT ICK before. Never had an outbreak after using, but thats alittle diff than treating Ick. All is made by the same company, but prolly should stick to the Rid Ick Plus. Good for scaleless bottom feeders.

It sounds somewhat like liquid mothballs?

I'd research that ingredient before you dosed anything.

Ok, I've decided to stick with the tried, and true Rid-Ick. So I went ahead and did the second does today. I just hope my ottos, cories, and tetras will be ok.

I'll keep updating as I things change.

I would still like to hear from anybody who has used this stuff though. Might be good to know for the future.

thanks,
-Dennis

Hey I've used the Ich attack once before when my clown loaches contracted ich and it works great. Just as well as Rid ich in fact. Also being that it is 100% organic it's safe for all fish, including scaleless fish, so you can use it at full dosage. In severe cases of ich the daily dosage can even be increased by as much as 100% and treatment continued for longer than a week if need be. It can also be used to treat certain types of fungus as well.
Plus it doesn't turn your water blue and possibly stain any oraments you might have in your tank. Just speaking for myself I've used it and it worked for me.

Unfortunately this is a bad way of thinking. Stop that now

Just because its natural or organic doesn't make it completely safe. Some of the world most potent drugs are natural and/or organic

Well, as I'm 3 days into the Rid-Ick treatment, I should probably stick with it now. But I'm glad to hear the organic stuff worked for you.

I'm really tempted to switch over, but I'm sure that would only cause more problems.

I will keep you updated.....
