Hey guys,

Sorry in advance for the lack of info I can give you - just looking for something that may work!!

In my office these people have a Betta that has a really really really swollen belly. He has been like that for about 3 weeks now - it looks like he has a thumb in his stomach.

I thought it may be dropsy but he's still really active = eating well etc and his fins are really sticking out - hes just huge!!

Was I right to think it was dropsy and there is not much help or could it be something else???

He is in a small bowl but its pretty clean. Have no stats on water.

Thanks

Is he eating too well ?
Could also be constipated. I believe you're supposed to starve them for 2 days and feed them a pea.
If it is dropsy it's not usually cureable, I don't think.

Yes just a cooked pea cut into bite size pieces. This has also been suggested to me before, I have never had the chance to try it first hand. Although I hear the results are very good, give it a shot! Good luck

If he is a new purchase, there are some odd CTs coming thru recently that are really pot-belliied, and they stay that way its odd.

For animals, the entire universe has been neatly divided into things to (a) mate with, (b) eat, (c) run away from, and (d) rocks. - Terry Pratchett
