I have a long fined black tetra that I've had 6 months or more and all of a sudden there is this clear thin looking bubble coming out of its mouth. It cannot even shut it's mouth all the way. It is eating and swimming fine. I looked under diseases and didn't see anything like it. Does anyone have any comments on what this is, what to do about it?

10 gallon with CAE, 2 bleeding heart tetras, 4 black tetras and 2 white tetras

You will need to treat the fish with melafix, and an internal bacteria medicine.

Do you know what it is? Will I just put something in the water and it will keep all the others from getting it? I have never had a sick fish before.

Thanks for the reply!!

If the fish can't close it's mouth you have to treat inside and out, what are your test results in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph. Here is a linkhttp://www.fishpalace.org/Disease.html
