I have a group of corys and I started to notice that one fish was getting a little bit skinny a while back, I started keeping an extra eye on the fish. It did not get better so I moved it into a 10 gal QT. Now the fish is getting worse by the day and its fins are all worn away, and they almost looked burnt. I am on the last day of the dose of primafix and just did the 7 day water change. Thing is I don't see it getting better, almost worse. I need to know what I do know.

Should I put the fish down?
or another dose of meds?
diffrent kind of meds?

Any help would be sooo great I love this fish!!TY

Sorry to say but I think you only have one decision to make By By Corie.

I would keep a very good eye on all the others just in case there is a problem. It sounds like a one off type of natural death.

One of my Albino's died yesterday & i'm thinking it's the excess heath that we had. It was perfect yesterday morning, quite fat & really playfull & in the evening i found it on it's side.

Has the fish been eating? And, what are your water parameters?

The skinniness could be from internal parasites, especially if the fish was eating while wasting away at the same time. How long have you had it? Perhaps the fish was sick when you purchased it? Hard to say.

Come back with your water params, and we'll talk more. By the way, which fins are getting worn away? If it is mainly the caudal fin, it could be fin rot. It it is more other fins, I'm thinking that some type of pollutant could be causing the problems. It's all just speculation at this point, sorry.

Hope your fish recovers.

Hello it is all of the fins that are wasting away, as far as I can tell the cory is not eating at all, my reading may show that I have been overfeeding to try and get her to eat.

Here are the test results.
Ammonia 0 to 0.25ppm (in the middle)
PH 7.2
High range PH 7.4 to 7.8 (middle)
Nirite 0 ppm to 0.25ppm (middle)
Nitrate 0 to 5.0

Should I do another dose of prima fix after cleaning the tank again?

She is breathing but not eating as far as I can see, she also does not swim unless shes gets scared.

Whats making me feel so bad is I bought 4 other Corys with this one, they are all fine and twice or three times the size.

I know this fish will hang on its been sick for a while now compared to all the other fish I have eever had!!

Any help ASAP will be great!!!
thanks
