stuquarium![]() ![]() Enthusiast Posts: 262 Kudos: 275 Votes: 0 Registered: 28-Oct-2004 ![]() ![]() | last night i noticed that one of my female mollies was struggling a little. she was lying on the tank bottom, like she was sleeping not swiming much, the krinesis looked fine. i check the tank this morning and i find the molly swiming around, almost fine. but the krib was dead. it's eyes were missing. but other wise the body was intact. didn;t show any signs of being picked at or anything. what could it of died of? and is the molly suffering the same fate? i did a water change 2 days ago and cleaned my cannister, added some bio starter to.. only enough for 10gallons. ammonia: .25 Nitrite: 0 Nitrate: >12.5 any ideas? If so it is looking like a complete pull down. If I remember correctly before Big Pond crashed you had many small problems with that tank & it could cause problems. Have you added new fish recently? Maybe too many at one time? Or maybe you have a fish missing that's rotting somewhere in the tank causing the ammonia levels to rise? |

You know, sometimes fish just get old and die, and sometimes there is something wrong. If you haven't seen any physical signs of disease (open sores, flaring scales, red streaks, white marks, white poo) you may have an internal bacterial infection or parasite. I've heard people reccomend anti-parasite food, but I haven't found any near my house. I've used Jungle parasite clear which also helps clear bacterial infections. I'd follow the directions for dosage...one tablet per 10 gallons and underdose the tank if you have any sensetive species of fish. Make sure to do water changes. Just a note, the eyes of fish are usually the first to go because other fish eat them for nutrition. They are wild animals and will eat what they can for survival...even though it looks disgusting to have an eye-less corpse! I've got a fever... and the only presc |
