I have a guppy that is 6 months old, and I just noticed him today on the bottom of the tank on his side. He is still alive, swimming barely, but does not look good, he has no signs of illness that i can see. Please reply ASAP.

ok, update, the fish is dead]

Now then, I was observing him right after death, and his stomach area is getting extremely pink, almost as if she dworned in her own bladd, wait, scratch that, fish dont drown. I was just wondering if the fish could have had a vessel leak of some kind. I was wondering if this could have been a genetic disorder such as a clotting problem, or if it was cause by some sort of infection. If it is a genetic disorder, then I'm in trouble, because all of my fish are from the same parents.

We need more info to see find out what is happening:

Tank size?
Tank mates? Are they acting OK?
When was the last time you did a water change?
Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH?
Are the gills moving very fast?

EDIT: We posted at the same time. Sorry to hear that he died. It could be something internal, not visible to you. You should check your water parameters just to make sure.

Tank size?- 30 Gallon

Tank mates? Are they acting OK?- All fish have normal behavior, including him when he died.

When was the last time you did a water change?- 20% 4 days ago

Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH?- Don't have test kits, but I have been using the same water for a year with no problems.

Are the gills moving very fast?- There was little gill movement at all in him, but all of the other seem normal.

I was reading an article in Aquarium Fish about someting called "guppy disease." The author said he believes it is a combination of protozoan and a bacterial/fungal infection. It only affects guppies. He treated it with Quick Cure and triple sulfa. That's all I know, and there is no way of knowing that what happened to your guppy was guppy disease. Many fancies are just plain delicate because of thier breeding. Breed for color than hardiness. It could be just a fluke. I still recommend getting a test kit. Just keep a good eye out on your tank for a little while.

It was not guppy disease. As a matter of fact, these guys just recovered from guppy disease about a month ago, but they have been fine since.
