Noticing that my little dwarf gourami is looking a little thin despite eating regularly.

Of late she has had a long red poo that is about twice her length everyday.

I've tried removing her to see if the poo was a worm or parasite but couldn't see anything; when I touched the poop it fell straight off and broke so wasn't anything attached.

Wondering if anyone is able to assist?

P.S. The gourami is in a community tank with at least 50 tank mates and noone else is displaying the symptoms.

Would a photo help at all? BTW The excrement is not in any way clear so not sure if it's a parasite or not.

For whatever reason, this seems to be a common thing with gouramis. I've kept half a dozen types of gourami over a number of years and, among other their other qualities, they are profuse poopers. In my experience, it's a pretty normal circumstance for them to have long, trailing feces. If you're not noticing any other symptoms or abnormal behavior, I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks so much

Occasionally the fish in the tank will flash on the gravel but it's a random thing so I assume it's just them getting an itch

The flashing could be something. You mention that there are a lot of fish in the tank. How big of a tank is it? Sometimes poor water chemistry can lead to scratching behavior. I'd be curious what your ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, etc. levels are.
