![]() | Emergincy white spot break out |
IMCL85![]() Hobbyist Posts: 56 Kudos: 56 Votes: 0 Registered: 12-May-2005 ![]() ![]() | ok this is horrible it all started a few days ago my tank is 35g with 8x 10-15cm golden severums inside. They r very healthy fish I had them for 3 years now they have never have any problem at all until this tuesday. Due to fact I see they not eating like they use to. I check their body(maybe they have whitespot before tuesday but their body color probably cover its since they looks kind of white). I was like holy white spot all over their body. I do weekly change of 30% water. They poo out the same amount as they eat. And I did a test result of amonia and nitra both not looking very good. amonia =1.5 mg/L nitre =0.3 mg/L I already added some quickqure to my tank they seems ok now but still alot whitespot over their body current temperture is 84. any one have idea how I lower this kind of amonia and nitre? |

Then you might have to continue with 10% - 20% water changes daily. How long has the tank been set up? The ammonia and nitrite levels suggest that the tank isn't fully cycled, or that you are overstocked/overfeeding. |

I will do 75% water change today and see hows it. Since severums isn't quite sensetive as discu or tetras about water change. |

Did you treat with antibiotics? Add any fish recently? There shouldn't be ammonia and nitrite in an established tank, and there is... Maybe go with 50% change if you feel you must, even though they're not usually sensitive to water changes the fish are stressed as it is. |

Other that treating the tank I would be extremly concerned on how the Ich got into the tank. If it came via the water all you are doing is just bringing more into the tank. For this reason only I prepare all my water one week inadvance as the Ich must have a host to reproduce.
