Checked the chemistry and every thing seems fine

The tank is a 240 Jewel with its own built in filtration system, but there is no significant agitation! - could it be the lack of oxygen? Should I get an airstone? - Although Jewel advise their system does not need one!!

Have just treated the tank with whitespot - should I "carbon filter" the tank - but the box says not for another 5 days!

Thanks

Dave

i'd do a small water change 10% this with then add oxygen so can see it then improves.

are they gill plates sticking or opening fully?

what type of fish are they and what else do you have?

Gill plates are openng fully, i've just lost 2 golden nuggets and an expensive zebra.

I'm going to purchase an air pump now, to see if that makes a difference as my yoyo's are at the surface gasping for air.

Extra surface agitation should be provided during medicating. Also, is the medication you used safe for scaleless fish? I'd contact the manufacturer and/or research that further.

Def. increase surface agitation ASAP. My bet is with Jake, that the meds you used might not have been safe for scaleless fish such as cories, loaches, and plecos. Unfortunately, if this is the case, I don't believe there is too much you can do, other than put some carbon back in to make an effort to soak up the rest of the meds. G/L

The medication did not warn me of any problems to scaleless fish!!!!!!!

So I assumed ok for all types!!

Have just purchased a pump for the tank and temporally suspended an airstone into the tank during my lunch hour

How long will it take to work? before I will know that this is not the problem?

And you advise to install the Carbon filter when I arrive back home tonight?

Thanks

Dave

When using medication you need extra aeration, only replace the black carbon back when you have finished the medication, also usually tells you on the med box how much of water change to do after the med course.
