Hi. My largest gold gaurami insists on laying on the bottom corner of the tank. It comes up for food and to blow some bubbles then back down again. He is Not being chased by any other fish & does not show any signs what so ever of illness,torn fins,etc. He is quite an attraction. I was just wondering if this is "normal"?
I have been treating for ICH & it was a success. I watch my fish alot so I caught it as the very first spot came on. My gaurami has been doing this for about a couple of months & I dont think the two are associated. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!!:%)

Tell us how your Gouramie acted before the bottom-sitting started...

Also tell us if the odd behavior started after the ich treatments were dosed.

He has always been one with himself. He never has really been interested in what was going on in the rest of the tank. I'm not sure how u tell the sex apart but I believe its a male. He has doing this for about a month before the first ich spot so thats why I dont think its associated.
When I change the water he swims around for awhile until the water settles.Just like the rest of the fish but then back down he goes. I'm not too worried since he is eating rather good. He "SITS" in his corner & watches me. Really Weird! Any Ideas??

Although I don't know how related they are, I have a Dwarf Gourami that also seems to like 'sitting' in the corner and staring at everything... He seems fine, so maybe it's just a random Gourami thing?

I am following up on my problem w/ MR. Gold Gaurami.
I have been watching him more so this week & have noticed a kind of a bloat. It doesn't seem to be at his stomach though,its more so in the lower back towards his tail. The swelling is on both sides of his body. I was thinking it was bloat but I thought it had to be further up its body, then I thought possibly he was constipated??

I dont know...Never have seen this before. I hope its not too late! Does anyone have a clue? HELP!!!
