stuquarium![]() ![]() Enthusiast Posts: 262 Kudos: 275 Votes: 0 Registered: 28-Oct-2004 ![]() ![]() | hey guys. over the past few weeks i've notice the back wall of glass on my tank developing a green tinge it's getting thincker every week, i've used a magnet glass cleaner to get rid of some of it but i was wondering, should i get an algae eater?, a mystery snail? or some anti-algae medication. or is this ICK? it's only on the back panel of my 35G tank. |

This growth is a natural reaction from light and heat forming the green stuff that many trops like to munch on as a snack. Many inexperienced hobbyists try to delete every speck of algae growing on the tank glass never realizing that the algae is good healthy eating for many species to pick on. --garyroland. |

If so I'd move it, because of the temperature changes, and all...Heidi ![]() [/font] "I've got a great ambition to die of exhaustion rather than boredom." Thomas Carlyle |

There is a limit as to how much algae is allowed to grow on tank glass and a razor blade or a smooth grit sponge should be used to remove the unsightly accumulations. --garyroland. |
