Can anyone tell me what this means. My fish have ich I put some medicine and raised the temp. All of them sat down. Now the temp is about 76 and the fish aren't as active as they used to be, and two guppies are sitting. Plus one of the gouramis has slightly clouded eyes. Probably because I over medicated the tank. Anyway I changed 25% of the water yesterday and 25% today. Just don't know what to do now! ![]() Please Help! Last edited by warrion_2000 at 08-Jan-2005 12:08 |

Strong meds will make them sluggish and inactive and cause them to "sit down" as you explained. Water changes to dilute the overdose of meds is fine but the temp should be raised slowly over 24 hours to 86 degrees with meds reintroduced after the water change of the same temp and pH. Ten days is the usual treatment time for ich at 86 degrees, a temp that speeds up hatching and allows the med to kill the newly born ich parasites. --garyroland. |
