 | Hanging Mouths |
FishyCharacter  Hobbyist Posts: 129 Kudos: 132 Votes: 1 Registered: 14-May-2004   | I was looking at some fish at the LFS and I notices that their mouth's were hanging open. It looked like they had been surprised like in a cartoon. Obviously they shouldn't be that way, so I was just wondering what could be wrong with them? |

If they are larger fish like oscars, they may have a portion of their live meal still not all the way down. Other than that, tumors or growths can cause it. |

If dead with mouths open, it means they died of hypoxia or lack of oxygen. It can happen due to water quality issues, or other causes. I don't know that I would buy fish from this store. |
