Allright, a few weeks ago, my friend lent me some guppys. One of them had ich (or im pretty sure it was ich) and it died.

I treated the tank with some aquari-sol (a 3/4 dose, since we dose it after every water change) and nothing happened to the other fish.

No fish have any signs of ich, but my gouramis are all acting wierd.

They hide all day, and if you move near the tank, they dart across the tank - like their really scared (it looks like a wave inside the tank from the water splashing/moving fron side to side)

My gouramis NEVER did this before i got those dumb guppys.

My other fish seem fine (including 3 clown loaches, 2 yoyo loaches, 2 peppered corys, 6 WCMM, 3 cardnials, and 2 guppys)

What can be wrong here?

ALl of my levels are fine.

Have you checked parameters? What size tank is it and how many guppies did you add?

Do some small water changes of the same temp and pH as the tank to dilute the copper salts in the Aquari-sol...

Then observe the trops for improvement.

The partial change should be at least 35% of the tank...

About the darting, my fish used to do that to me...there was this one bugger I was trying to catch in a net for DAYS, and it made all the fish paranoid. They didn't forgive me for weeks...

Keep an eye on them, Vic...

If they start to settle down do another small water change of the same temp and pH.

Copper salts may have an adverse effect on some species while others are not bothered.

Thanks gary.

They dont seem to be as "jittery" or whatever the qord i am thinking is.

They are still hiding in the corner though.

Correst me if im wrong, but the bottle says to remove carbon when doing a full dose, and when you just do the dose to prevent ich in the tank, it says to leave the carbon in.

I have had carbon in the whole time, so wouldnt it just dissipate the copper?

Activated carbon, which most carbon is these days, is rather pickey at what it removes...

For instance, activated carbon is only fair at removing complexed copper, the type used in some meds, whereas activated carbon is useless in removing non-complexed copper.

If you're going to bet the farm that carbon will remove all copper from ich treatments, don't bet. It won't.

After a while of watching them, they are still hiding like crazy.

But at my LFS, there is a tank full of gouramis, and they kinda act the same way, they dart when you walk buy... the thing is is that mine never did this untill i introduced those guppies
