I would not raise the temp with Rid Ich Plus in the water because of the formalin. The formalin is a gas and reduces the amount of available oxygen. Add to that, the heat, and there is even less oxygen - a potentially deadly situation. Kordon recommends NOT altering the temp with it's product. Here is their info sheet on it. Read the last sentence at the end of paragraph 2, for their warning about temperature:
http://www.novalek.com/kpd38.htm

I recommend reading the entire sheet once or twice thoroughly.

I would dose at half strength and observe. You must watch the fish for behavioral changes after adding meds. You can always add a little more the next day and observe again for tolerance. Dropping in an extra airstone will help keep o2 levels up.

Don't assume that a death is related to the product, if you are using due caution. Ich parasites have a tendency to invade the gills.

I agree about not moving fish with ich. It's in the water and all fish are being exposed at this time. It's pretty useless to transfer an ich infested fish, with regards to preventing it's spread.

If using Rid Ich (+), then follow Kordon's instructions to make sure you kill the parasite when another set begins to hatch. Ich spots disappear temporarily and drop to the bottom of the tank where they build many more like themselves. The entire process lasts days and this is why people keep getting them back. They don't understand that ich is not done when it disappears off the fish. You need something in the water when the next round hatches.

It is imperative not to chill the fish. Be careful with water changes and be conscious of the starting temp and the end temp after a water change. The very best target to avoid temp shock is +/- 1F. I have done this since day one and have never had ich or velvet in any of my tanks.

Watch your ammonia and nitrite. In fact, what are they? They should be zero.

But is it ok for the ottos? I thought that it would kill them since they are catfish.

The worst thing you can do is move fish to protect them from ich...

It won't work and in fact will make matters worse.

Treat the tank with the Rid Ick Plus that you have left and slowly over 24 hours raise the temp to 86 degrees.

When you get a fresh bottle of treatment continue the dose for about a week.
