How much % WC, and how often? I think i have been overdosing with cycle, as the bacterial colonies have grown and skyrocketed!!!

well i would start with like a 30% wc,then wait a few days,or a week(its up 2 you)then do a 25% wc with a vacume, this will bring down the cololnies, then when this is done you should be pretty much back to normalyour water should be clear, and also these wc will get rid of any of the ick,if there is still some aroundlet us know how you go....
ps,on a side note,how many wc do you do a week,or a fortnight

Are you talking about bacteria colonies that you can actually see on your DW? Or do you mean algae?

I vote! Do you?

Ok, there were little strands on the DW that looked like bacterial colonies. They were apparantly the effect of the rotting DW, probably because it was in such warm water for so long. It looks like cotton fluffs hanging in the wind. White too! I do have GW algae, but i am working on solving this....Anybody have any ideas? Maybe Water Wisteria?

I have done a 25% WC yesterday, and i will do one again tomorrow. I usually do 25% WC every 5 days during the cycle, and a 40% once every 6-7 days on a regular basis. I think that this is enough. I dont want to kill the colonies, as i am having a little cycle right now. Biospira is so overpriced in the LFS that has em. Last time i checked, it was like 6 dollars max for a small 3oz pouch. Then, now it is 12 dollars for a size bigger! They apparantly ran out of Biospira 3oz. I dont have enough money with me to buy it!

The best meds I've found for getting rid of Ick is Jungle ick guard, its safe for use with scaleless fish like Clown Loaches as well as Cichlids and you can get it online in the USA very easily, best & cheapest place I've found (cause they post to the UK) is:

They also do a wide range of water conditioners so they may have something that will help you:
