I have a 55 gallon that has been running for about 4 months. I noticed a small white spot or two on the fins of my fish. I checked my dojo loach (he seems to be most e to desiese) and sure enough, there where about 7 little white dots on his body. My water parameters as of this morning are...

PH: 7.4
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 0-5.0
Temp: 75 F

Stock List(55 gallon)...
1 dojo loach- 5"
3 bronze corys- 1.5"
3 clown loaches- 3"
2 dwarf gouramis- 2"
3 female bettas- 2"
1 swordtail molly- 2"
1 giant gourami- 6"
2 male baby convicts- 1"
2 female baby convicts- .5"

filtration...
Cascade 300 by Penn-Plax

chemicals/additives...
All I add is Aqua Safe(by tetra Aqua) water conditioner. I only add this when doing water changes.

I have not yet noticed strange behavior, everyone is acting normal. About 5 days ago I bought 2 lyrtail mollies and two swordtail mollies. The lyrtails were fighting with eachother and everyone elso so I took them back. One of the swordtails was very pregnant so I put her in one of my 10 gallons. (she gave birth to 15 tiny fry) She has no signs of ick. I got the betta's after returning the mollies. I am going to the fish store tonight to pick up something to treat whith. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am concerned about how the clown loaches will react to the treatment. Also, my last water change was about 9 days ago (I do about a 12% water change every 7 days, I was late this week) Should I do a water change now, then treat, or treat, then change water?
Thank you
-Steph

Oh, and Jerry (the giant gourami) has some small dark spots on his fins. These are new also. These spots are about this big *. I am assuming that because they showed up with the ick, they are also bad.

Rid ich plus is your best bet, it was designed for fish like clowns that are sensitive to many of the more traditional meds.

It's very important that you fully follow directions, and not simply stop treating the tank just because the spots "dissapear". Run the full lenght of treatment for your med, second rounds of treatment is sometimes necessary.

I treated my 29-gal tank with Rid Ich+. In the tank I have a Yo-yo loach; I treated the entire tank (including loach) with Rid Ich+ - It worked well and nothing, not even my plants, was harmed. You do, although, want to take out your snail (if any), as these are sensitive to Rid Ich+.
