I need to treat my shark ASAP for fungus. I have available Maracyn Plus(Sulfadimidine and trimethoprin),Jungle Fungus Clear and Jungle Fungus Guard. Which of these would be safe for him??? Please help!

Read the back of Fungus Clear to see if it says to treat at half strength for scaleless and sensitive fish. If so, use just half the dose. If in doubt, use half the dose.

In the meanwhile, it would help to get some other info from you like tank size, inhabitants and so on. Parameters too.

How do you think it happened? Usually some kind of mechanical injury is where it begins like another fish ramming it, or a cut on the mouth, or a fish being netted, etc. Is it new?

Describe it a little more.

What I've read about ID sharks is that they're very active often jumping around and crashing into decor.

In the meantime, incase you didnt know [link=this]http://www.jjphoto.dk/fish_archive/warm_freshwater/pangasius_hypophthalmus2.jpg" style="COLOR: #EB4288[/link] is a Iridescent shark. It'll need a big tank...five hundered gallons I believe is the minimum.

My LFS has a tank full of baby iridescent sharks & they say it will get to be about 12" max. I had him in a 72 gl.,notice I said "had him". I lost him last night. None of the bottles listed anything about scaleless. I used the maracyn plus at half dose last night. He had scraped up against a rough rock in my tank and I was a little worried that I had not noticed it in time.
He wasn't eating & not moving normal. I placed him in my hospital tank which is where he had passed. His injured did not look so bad actually so I beleived he would make it. Thks for all your input....
