There are several cichlids in my 75 gal that have this type of poop. They all are active and feeding normally. None of them have physicall signs of any disease either. The water parameter are all good. Does other factors affect the coloration the feces. Their diet includes wardley's cichlid flakes, spirulina sticks and algae wafers, and weekly frozen shrimp cube( haven't feed the shrimp in a week). Any info appreciated thanks openwater |

It also can be an indicator of a liver problem in trops. I personally do not like the presence of clear droppings. They can indicate an intestinal parasite is at work depleting the required bacteria needed for healthy droppings. There's really not much you can do now but wait and see if the droppings return to normal. If the fish show signs of wasting than a parasite med would be called for. --garyroland. --Vero Beach, Florida. |
