I have Rhino Pleco and one of the other fish with him took a part of his dorsal fin, and half of one of the spines. I know that a dorsal fin can repair cuts in it, but will the missing part grow back in at all?

I "think" it will grow back it will totally depend on the general health of the fish.

I hope you have removed it to a place where it can rest and repair its self.

I would be treating it with both Pimafix and Melafix to relieve the stress and stop any secondary infections. For a while i would reduce the food intake and very little light this should help. Reducing the feeding could help in any water pollution if he does not feel like eating very much.

The dorsal fin is starting to grow back in however the spine does not seem to be growing in. Besides that he seems to be doing fine.

If that is all that is wrong now nothing to worry about as long as he is healthy.
