 | Oscar acting weird |
ladywyzord Small Fry Posts: 1 Kudos: 1 Votes: 0 Registered: 07-Sep-2004   | I woke up this morning and turned my fish tank light on and my oscar was leaning over and his gray was almopt white. He didn't come to the top like he always does to get fed either. The temp is right the ph is off a little don't have a nitrate tester. He doesn't look like he has any skin disorders. What could it be? |

DaMossMan Fish Guru Piranha Bait Posts: 2511 Kudos: 2117 Votes: 359 Registered: 16-Nov-2003    | A nitrate test kit (liquid, it's better and cheaper) is about the most important thing you can get for oscar, as thats the easiest thing to get out of control when keeping a high bioload fish. (especially for me as I did not splurge on a canister filter) Oscars will 'whiten' very easily from moments of stress or just when being moody.
