Hi All I'm new to this forum, but it looks like everyone here has a lot of great experience!! So here's my question:
I have a common plecostomus that has been in the pond and is about 8" long. I brought him in a few weeks ago for safe overwintering, and put him in a tank with a few fancy goldfish.

Yesterday I noticed a lump on his underside near the base of his tail with a pink tip. His belly is also quite noticeably bulging. A small amount of something white comes out of the lump now and then.

Could "he" be a pregnant "she" or is this a type of disease anyone knows of? I'd appreciate any info. Thanks to you all in advance!
~Anna

Tropicals kept outside usually have parasite problems...

The trop should be placed in a separate tank and treated with "Parasite Clear".

Because the trop may be severely infested, it may or may not respond to treatment.

An enlarged stomach could mean the fish is loaded with parasites.

Thanks Keith!!

Garyroland - Thank you much for the info! This is my first pleco and he has been brought inside so it will be easy to treat him in his tank. I will go straight to the pet store tomorrow and get the meds. I'll keep you posted on how he does. Thanks Again! ~Anna
