Hi all, my Gold Gourami was very sick a few days ago after being attacked be a chinese algae eater. (I caught the last attack and the aggressor was removed).

I was very lucky that she's almost completely healed in a week. But one of her 'feelers' was damaged and in the healing process, it fell off. There is still a small nub left there. Will the 'feeler' regrow or is it gone for good ?

Thanks

Usually when "feelers" are gone they're gone for good...

If any regeneration does occur at the "nub" the result will never be the same as the original.

Thanks Gary, she appears to be eating etc normally.. I just noticed the opaline gourami, although was never sick, is missing a feeler also. Will this affect them in any way ?

Actually no...

The feelers are more or less a sensory tool, perhaps similar to a cat's whiskers.

In the wild they were probably used more in the dark to sense prey or foe.
