Hey folks,

I've got a cory in my tank who's got a ripped tail. It split right in the middle of the tail and the split goes about half way to his or her body. Will it eventually mend by itself, or is there something I need to do to increase it's chnaces of mending?

I've been adding a little melafix.

BTW, I have no idea how it happened, there are no big fish in the tank.

If you have excellent water quality it will mend on it's own.

Tail fins, if that's what you mean, have a habit of splitting in many species...

Usually it's a heredity trait that no med treatment can reverse.

You'll find that Guppies suffer from tail-splitting in some varieties, ruining them for breeding purposes.
