I have had two german blue rams now for about 5 months, no problems, very healthy looking, but lately I've noticed on one of them the stomach area looks concave, going up into the body. I fish also stay on the bottom more. My tank has
all excellent water conditions. Zero Ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. My guess is there is an internal parasite, but I'm not sure. They are still eating. The water is about 84 degrees (alittle warm) because of the summer, but I have cardinals, angels, rummys, otos, plecos and kribs with no problem. Thanks for any advice.

Parasites will indeed cause a concave belly in fish...

I don't really believe once the fish demonstrates a serious sinking in of the stomach that the problem can be reversed.

However, you can try "Parasite Clear" or any good med for internal parasites and dose according to directions.

Thanks Gary, I'm afraid your probably right, but I will dose anyway. Are internal parasites easily transfered to the other fish.

No parasite can be trusted not to infect other fish...

Camallanus parasites, for instance, are contageous and will spread to just about all species in the tank, that's why all fish in the tank are treated.
