Mitchee Enthusiast Posts: 176 Kudos: 75 Votes: 99 Registered: 12-Dec-2005 | I have a female platy that can only swim frontwards or backwards. She cannot come to the surface. She just stays on the bottom and basically drags herself around. I have moved her to my hospital tank and treating her with Furan-2. I'm suspecting swim bladder disease. Would you have any advice as to how I should proceed? I'm very concerned about her recovery especially since she can't come up to take any food. Thank you! *Mitch* |

Answering thes questions just might help. Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/interactive/forums/profile.asp?userid=6741[/link] for my tank info Betta 11Gal Desktop & Placidity 5ft Community Tank Photos Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. Mitchee Enthusiast Posts: 176 Kudos: 75 Votes: 99 Registered: 12-Dec-2005 | Hi Keith In response to your questions: I don't think she's pregnant as I can't see any dark spot and she doesn't look engorged. Not sure about constipation, although I haven't seen her "go" since she's been in the hospital tank. Her age is difficult to tell. She was purchased from WalMart about 1.5 months ago and appears fully grown. Sorry that I can't give you more conclusive answers. Any suggestions as to where I go from here? *Mitch* |
