Well, that does sound pretty strange for cories. Are they eating? If so, maybe you can lure them out with food, maybe a sinking pellet, so you can see what's wrong.

Another thing, do not use aquarium salt. Cories are pretty intolerant of salt, and do not like it at all. I believe they can tolerate small doses, but I wouldn't risk it.

Well they are still hiding! They still look sick and I am leaving the medication in there. Maybe I used it wrong? It said 1 drop per gallon, but half the amount for tetras and bottom feeders. So I put in 15 drops for 3 consecutive days just like it said.

Well I follwed the instructions on the med. I applied it for 3 days just like it said. My cories are still hiding but come out a bit for food. I turned the light back on to give my plants a bit of light. My question is how long should I leave the med in the tank for? I think they are still partially sick but they are still hanging in there. I just can't find one of them . I hope he's just hiding and I don't find a surprise in my filter.

EDIT: They look a bit healthier and I snuck up on them to see if they were eating the food I left them. They actually ate it all and were searching for more food. Then one of them noticed me and went physco. And i still can't find the other one.

Yes I bought the med and I am currently still medicating the tank. The tank lights have been off for over a day so the cories will be less stressed out. I hope my plants will be okay due to the lack of lighting. I fed them and they are becoming more active. I think they will make it through.

Well they seem to be acting normal when the tank lights are off. How long can I leave the lights off for because I do have live plants in the tank. I am going to get medication tomorrow. Oh and would the meds be plant safe?

The weird thing about them is that at night when the tank lights go off they all behave normally. When the lights go on they go hide. Should I shut the tank lights off a bit earlier?

After lifting the driftwood up it appears that a few of the fish are pretty bad. Theyu have films on their skin that kinda is a white colour but more on the gray/ yellow side. One cory is completely pale and has lost its colour. They are breathing heavily. I just did a 25% water change and cleaned the tank really good. Will they make it on their own or will they need medication? I just started this hobby not too long ago and don't know what to do.

Edit: If they do need medication, which they probably will, I won't be able to go to the lfs until Friday. Will they make it till then?

They do come out for food now. But if they are freightened they'll go back to their hiding spot. They are breathing heavily but their fins aren't clamped.

Some of them come out for food and are not always hiding. At night they seem to be normal... well a few of them but for the majority of the day they spend their time under the driftwood. If I were to lift the driftwood up, they would all be freightened and swim rapidly all over the place.

Well if u can't lure it out with food i would take the rock and so they dont go under and u an get a good look at them because we need a better description, what is ur nitrates, nitrites, ph. It is usually a yellow or goldish dusting for velvet, but if it is they do make medications that u can prob pick up in a lfs

My cories have been acting strangely. They dart around and flash and scrape themmselves against the gravel when startled, they stay under a piece of driftwood all day, and I can really get them still to see if they have any marks. I think they have a dusting of white spots. I'm not sure but i think they have velvet. Some one else in another thread told me to use aquarium salt. Help is appreciated.
