Ok pretty straight forward question.
My salvini (we will refer to him as bob to help keep his identity safe) has a little problem, he sinks
The little dude just sits on the bottom of his tank all day everyday and has been like this for over a month!
He will come to the surface and feed but thats about it, gets a mouthfull and sinks back down to consume.

Any advice would be great.
Thanks

Its a 2ft tank, fish is only 3 inches long.
Tank has been set up for over 1 yr.
Regular water changes and filter cleans are carried out.
Fiosh is fed a mixture of flakes and bloodworms.

No idea on chemical balances.

The water used for the tank is natural rainwater and has no foriegn additives if that helps.
Temp is 27 i think

how often are you cleaning the filter? You say regularly but how often is that!
Rainwater is always as clean as people think! so that may be the problem
How much aeration(not sure if thats spelt right) have you got in the tank as 27 C (81 F) is quite warm, that what i have my marine tank set at

Sorry for all the questions!

filter is cleaned about once every 6 weeks.
Not sure on its brand nor what it is circulating at but im sure it is more than sufficient for the tank size.

I was hoping it was just a common illness

are the scales sticking out at all kinda like a pine cone (if thats spelt right )

He looks as healthy as can be.
Still feeds regulary etc but just sits or lie's on the bottom of the tank.

His diet is pretty varied, i give him live spiders, worms anything i find really + the general fish shop crap.
