CJT...

We need information about your tank set-up. First, I see that you have started two different threads about your fish. Are the Mollies in the same tank as the Danio? If so you should direct people to one thread or the other instead of giving bits and pieces of information in two separate threads. If they are in different tanks we need more information about both tanks.

Size of tank and the length of time it has been set up. Has this tank been fully cycled? All of the occupants. Water test results. Preferrably ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH. Is this tank heated, what is the temp, and do you supply air to the tank. Tell us all the water conditioners you use to treat the water in the tank(s).

Here's every thing in my tank. Sadly the only test kit I have is a Wardly P.H. mid range kit (6.2.-7.4.). I intend to purchase others today (while buying the things for the 35 gal which include: bio wheel filter, Marineland heater, high out-put air pump) as well as skin fluke, parasitic, and bactireal medications.

I hope this was all the info you needed if anything is lacking DON'T e-mail me, just use the fishprofiles.com mail system.

Thanks, C.J.T

We at fp.com don't usually email that much. I come up with it probably being skin flukes from the symptoms u told me in chat. IT should be relatively treatabl.

I would suggest a combination MelaFix and PimaFix. They are supposed to work really well together, and I believe that this would help.

Also since you don't have a test kit, take some water, doesn't need to be much; I take mine in in a small ziplock bag; to the lfs and they will usually test it for free. I always have them right down the results, and then you can post that part.

Best of luck, Heidi

You said that you were going to get malachite green as a med, but just to set the record straight, I do not know if malachite green will work. I do know that an anti-parasitic is used to do it. Skin Flukes are mini-parasites that attack the skin/scales. I however, am not sure that this illness is not toxic shock as opposed to skin flukes.

The rule of thumb is 1 inch of fish per gallon of water. I'm not sure how fish end up with your problem, but I know that it can't be healthy for so many fish to be in that small of a tank. I'd say treat them with melafix and get them moved to a bigger tank. Also, get some more cories when you do. They like to school and would be much happier!
