this just came out of my female molly. i dont know what it is.. it's pretty long, and white.. any ideas?

some people have mentioned it could me a afterbirth? a worm or parasite. or just funky poo.

can anyone help me with diagnosis, and treatment options?

Wow - that is interesting looking. Not know what an afterbirth for a fish would look like, I would watch her carefully, especially her feces. See if they are white, pale and stringy. If so, I would feed the new Jungle Anti-Parasite Medicated Food, only available at PetSmart at this time. Pale, stringy feces can be a sign of parasites and the fish can look emaciated or can have a bloated appearance. Vomiting up food several minutes after eating is also a sign (not spitting out as they do to break food sizes down).

EDIT: Sorry, didn't look at your country sign. This med won't be available to you. You will have to look meds in your store that treat internal worms if you see the signs above. Ingredient that is good is Praziquantel

AHA - Found it. I knew I saw somewhere in AUS where this was at.

And it has praziquantel in it. Just a few hours of this stuff in the water will expel internal parasite within hours. You may want to ask if Prazi is the only ingredient as it is safe for ALL fish, including fry, and is safe for plants. I don't know about inverts. It is suppose to be highly safe tho and very effective. One dose for internal worms is usually all that is needed and they dump them in hours of being in the bath.

I'm not advocating you use it unless you see other visible symptoms.

tanks alot for that

it's been 2 days since it's happened and now she's alot slimmer than she was and her poo is green. no other fish in the tank have done what she has..

so maybe she was sick when she as at the LFS.

Wasting and odd poo is usually a good indication of parasites. I would treat the tank. Cory_Di gave some great suggestions for medication.

WOW that is odd! I would medicate for parasites to be on the safe side. You may take it in to your lfs if they could tell you what it is.
