I was watching my 2 Rams this morning and saw some strange behavior I haven't seen before. When ever they are near a small round pebble, they would open their mouths like they were sucking on something. They would "suck" and slide their mouths across the pebble. Also, sometimes they would shake themselves.

Any idea if this should be worried upon?

Water parameters are:

pH 7
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 30

-Just did a 25% water change.

Never kept rams, but normal behaviour with fancy goldfish.

I've discovered that my Rams were getting ready to lay eggs. and they did last night on a pebble. Mystery solved.
