Hi everyone

I have two tanks

How can i steralise "instruments" (nets, syphons etc) so I do not not cross contaminate infections/algae spore between the two?

Thanks in advance

Dave

I would think that dipping them into boiling water would be the best and safest solution.

I think my LFS uses a dilute Betadine solution. You can get it from a chemist/pharmacy.

Boiling water shouldn't melt the plastic, it may make your tubing more flexible initially, but I would think the melting point would be much higher.

It would be impossible to steralise to a 100%. If you are that fussy I would buy another complete set and keep them seperated. This will be the only way to be 100% sure there is no cross over of any problems.

You can buy solutions that you equipment can be kept in but I have no idea what it is called.
