Another of my fish has a red spot kinda like a cut. His tail is kinda curved down. Is this something to be worried about?

Why would I go buy bigger, more expensive fish, if I would be using them to cycle a tank. I'm using the zebras to cycle my tank.

Yes it looked like salt grains, but it was just one bigger spot. I just introduced 2 more danios and they seem to be doing fine and they even got the other danio that was shy to be more active. All of my fish seem to be doing well and I will do a water change then.

The cycling won't be helping matters, does the white spot looked like the fish has been sprinkled in salt, also do a water change.

My tank is currently cycling also.

pH: 7.6
Ammonia: 0.6ppm
NitrIte: 0.1ppm
NitrAte:5ppm (is this normal to actually see nitrAte in a cycling tank?

I recently bought zebra danios, and when i introduced them to the tank they all seemed fine. They were swimming fast and chasing each other around. Today I couldn't find one of them. I later noticed it was laying on the gravel, still breathing. He had a white spot on top of his head and a bit pale. He looks a bit lethargic and just sits there and occasionally goes for a bit of a swim and just falls back down head first. His belly is sunken in. Is it ich???? help please!

Temp: 26 degrees celcius (around 78 degrees fahrenheit)
pH: 7.6
Ammonia: 0.6ppm
NitrIte and NitrAte I am going to test today and i will post them.

I will post more information as soon as I test for nitrite and nitrate.
Filtration:Aqua Clear 200

EDIT: new symptoms

I found the sick fish! It wasn't in the filter, it was behind a rock half burried in the gravel. It was dead but when i loosened it it didn't float. I removed it but I was wondering if i should medicate the other fish now in fears of the disease spreading?

I am going to take off the filter anyways for cleaning and I will check there. I think it most likely got sucked up. And another one of my danios likes to stay at the surface near the heater. He occasionally will join the others and swim around and he can swim pretty fast to. He looks a little thin. Is this just shyness?

I checked everywhere. Nowhere to be found. I've also noticed another zebra danio that was kinda swimming on his own and tends to stay near the heater, but he will oftenly swim around and play tag with the others. Is this just shyness or is he getting sick to?

No, sounds like some type of serious disease. I would try to find him or his corpse before your other fish eat him. Some diseases can be passed on by cannibalism.
I would be its something wrong with the swim bladder or its an internal infection of some kind.

I would remove him from the tank, I think he's to far gone now to medicate, he has a number of desease, and he to weak to fight.
