Right now, I'm treating my 29 gallon tank with Melafix and Pimafix. I have a single Corydoras with a lump (non-contagious) on its tail, which is slowly healing. I have been dosing the tank with meds for about five days now. Since I've had to put my water changes on hold (and I foolishly forgot to do a change before adding the meds), my tank is looking dirty and cloudy. My question is, can I do a 20% or so water change, to help get some clean water in there? I just bought some new fish, and I don't want them to die on account of one cory. Also, the dirty tank is just bugging me. So, would a small water change be okay? I would still continue to add medicine daily.
Thanks for the help!

You can, and should, do several small water changes every day and forego the meds until the water quality improves. A new filter cartridge would be helpful also.

After that you can continue the meds until the results you seek are accomplished.

Okay, thanks Gary. I did a small water change a few minutes ago, and I plan on doing at least one more tomorrow. I've been busy this week and will continue to be tomorrow, so we'll see how many I can do.

Saturating tank water, an accumulative effect, with Melafix, an anticeptic, is not a good thing.

The water changes, allowing good water quality, will be beneficial. Perhaps small doses of the meds will be enough to affect a cure.
