![]() | Worm Like Thing... What is it?/ Bumblebee Goby Question... |
H17E5H![]() Small Fry Posts: 4 Kudos: 6 Votes: 0 Registered: 05-Feb-2005 ![]() | Hi, Further to my last post: "Which disease should i treat FIRST?" i have a bit of bad news, the Krib i was treating for Popeye sadly died the popeye developed into Dropsy and it couldn't take it no more. When i took it out of the Aquarium and put it in a small tub i noticed a worm like thing coming out it's backside, it was a live as it appeared to sway in the water i put in.. What could this be? Also over the weekend i was given a Bumblebee Goby from a friend as he is giving up his Aquarium plus fish... I couldn't resist accepting it as it looks so adorable. Just a quick question about the Goby.. I did some research on it and found out they usally only eat live food i've been feeding it Blood worm, but by taking it out of the tank and putting it into a shallow saucer to feed it as when i put the Blood worm directly into the Aquarium the other fish seem to eat it all without giving the Goby a chance to eat. The Goby is usally tuked away behind a rock through out most of the day.. What is the best way to feed him without taking it out of the water? Finally got there with my "Quick Question"... Suggestions Much appreciated ![]() |

If so, then yeah - the poor bugger had internal worms. Any other fish in the tank are susceptible. If you get the Hikari brand in the UK, look for a product called Prazi-Pro. On the bumble-bee goby, I'm going to strongly encourage you to make a single post on that topic and I would probably do so under General Freshwater. You could post under brackish, but there is more traffic in General. I would do so immediately. I'm going to tell you right now that pulling the fish out to feed it is not only highly stressful, but highly risky with regards to infection as the slime coat gets wiped away. Not good. How did the previous owners feed it and what did they feed it? What kind of tank is it in? I believe this is a fish that requires, or does best in, a brackish environment, meaning some salt. His tankmates need to be chosen carefully as a result. So, please make that post and see if you can get some goby owners to respond to your post. It is always best to make one post per topic to not confuse things. The goby issue is not a hospital issue so many people who should see it, won't. Best of luck ![]() |
