![]() | Zebra Danio: red spot on caudal fin! |
wmayers![]() Small Fry Posts: 2 Votes: 0 Registered: 18-Oct-2004 ![]() ![]() | I have a zebra Danio that has lived in my tank for about 6 months. Yesterday I noticed one bright red spot low on its caudal fin that seems to be three dimensional (maybe a cyst or tumor). The danio's behavior and coloring is normal otherwise. The tank is 20 gal, pH btwn 6.8-7.0, amonia/nitrates 0-.1 ppm, temp 77 deg F, hardness 80-120 ppm KH and GH. I have seen a lot of hits for white spots or Ich, but have not seen anything about red spots. The closest thing I've found so far is Red pest (which may lead to ulcerations and fin or tail rot) but red pest is described as red streaks, not cyst-like spots. Please help in diagnosing, so that I can treat my fish. Thanks, Matt |
