Its hard to get perspective on the pic, but I do see the site. Possibilities include: - Ulcer - Other infection (like a boil type that burst/lesion) - Parasite - Injury from being rammed by someone causing swelling and internal problems? Maybe there are others, its just hard to tell. Did you notice anything else about the body that seemed unusual? I see a red streak in the eye on the first pic. Was that always there or did you see hemorrhaging in the eyes, underside or any place else that seemed unusual? If so, then whatever he had could have led to a deadly septicemia condition where they bleed internally. I know with my small trops and even my goldfish, they can get a little too aggressive when competing for female attention and really do some damage. Several of my "peaceful" fish are responsible for lost scales on other fish during certain times of the year. I have one male white cloud in particular that really takes such a beating in one spot, that he has developed a growth. I'd keep a close eye on everyone. Its a good time to take an assessment by sitting in front of the tank and careully looking everyone over for anything suspicious. Then watch. Last edited by Cory_Di at 21-Jan-2005 23:18 |
