today i noticed one of the ventral fins on my blushing angel is bent. i'm not sure how that happened. it eats normally but is there something i can do to help this problem? just for reference, my angels are in a 20gal tank and the only thing wrong with it is the ammonia level being pretty high but i'm using ammo-lock hoping it'll do some good to it. maybe you guys have some tips for me on the ammonia problem or on my lil angel's fin, please help! thanks in advanced!

Disfigured ventral fins as well as dorsal fins are a product of hereditary traits...

You'll usually find dorsal fins bent back more often than ventrals.

Ammonia should be controlled by good biological balancing, not by chemically adjusting.

Do the required water tests, study the "nitrogen cycle" and purchase a bottle of the New Improved Cycle, a bacteria starter, and follow directions.

I must agree with Gary, as bent fins on angels are most always a hereditary trait, and not a disease. For this reason, there is no cure, nor anything you can do for them. Usually it is the top dorsal fin, but many times it is the vent fin. They do not usually show up on the fish till they get some size. This comes from the in-breeding of these fish over many generations. And it is actually more common than most know. But most quality breeders will cull their stock, thus only producing good quality fish.
