I don't know if this method is the way to do it.
So has anybody tried this method:
Set the heater up to 32C and let it stay for 2 days, and add more oxygen to the tank.
Then after 2 days let the temp back to normal for 2 days,
Then you set the heater back to 32C and let it stay for 2 days more. Then back to the normal temprature again after 2 days.A friend of mine did that and he got ridd of the white spots and didn't loose one single fish.
I just want to know if this is a good way to get ridd of white spots?

Very bad outdated way of dealing with ich. The biggest problem is that ich can survive temps of 32C/89F. Ich even likes it when it's warm and raising to that temperature will only cause the ich to think it's on spring break and ...well....multiply faster.
Additionally you're driving off oxygen by raising the temp, evein by increacing surface agitation you run the risk of too little oxygen for the fish. The temp swings that are called for would also stress the fish (are we seeing a pattern here).
Translating the above reccomendation gets us the following result....increasing temp means increased ich reproduction rates. Fluctuating temps and low oxygen situations lead to stressed fish. I see happy ich unhappy fish.

Killing ich by temperature alone is very difficult. You need to reach temps of 35C/95F or greater. This isn't going to make very many fish happy and will cause a number of deaths. There was a situation a while ago where Garyroland was helping Whetu out on an ich case in her clown loach tank. Living in NZ whetu was unable to get clownloach approved meds and temp was her only resort. She lost a few fish in attempt to save the clowns. Because increased temperature does speed up the life cycle it is effective when used in combonation with medications.
And because the only stage in which ich can be killed is once it's fallen off the fish many people think it's "gone" when it's not. Speeding up the life cycle makes it fall off faster meaning theres a greater chance of killing it ...but only when there's medication in the tank .

Not trying to a smartie on white spot/diseases (which I have not seen for years) is prevention.

I will be writing an article very soon on prevention rather than cure.

this up and down temp. shift will make the weaken fish even weaker....I don't see an advantage of using this method. Rather just use a good brand of medication

Look forward to the article Keith I have actually managed to prevent having white spot by installing a UV sterilizer I have had mine in operation now for six months (must change the bulbs now and clean the sleeve) since having the UV (touch wood LOL) I have not had a single case of white spot or any other decease Just clean healthy water and heathy fish.

Oh yes Babel can tell you how much I suffered with whitespot before the UV as I was always pestering her with it but now she is left alone lol Hey Babel
