my betta boy has had a tumor for about two months. he is still very lively. i just noticed that he can only flare on the side without the growth. i was wondering if anybody has had this same thing and how long thier betta lived with it.

also another problem, my female betta died a couple days ago. i changed her water and my tumoris boys water. both with the same water like i always do. then later that i night i noticed her laying on the bottom of her tank, but it was dim in my room and i thought she was sleeping. the next morning when i went to feed her, i noticed that she was decaying already. pieces of her just floating off of her. is that normal to decay that quick? ive never seen anything like it. she was fine before hand, even ate after i changed her water. nothing out of the ordinary. ooo, i had had her for about 8 months.[/font]

Could you try to get a better pic? From that one all it looks like is he is bloated. Really need a better pic to tell for sure. If it is bloating it could be several things. Parasites, and constipation are a couple.

For Parasites keep an eye out for worm like creatures coming from the anus. Treat with medications.

For constipation. Treat by feeding a shelled pea.

I wouldn't worry about the flare problem. I have a veil tale that is exactly the same way. He is going on over a yr old now and it has never caused him any trouble.

Yes that is normal for what you saw with the dead female.
