I have a pair of angels in my 55g and one of them seems to have not eaten in nearly a week. As time goes by he just keeps his snout toward the surface of the water un interested in anything else and its belly is very very large and round. It doesnt seem to be pooping either so Im Not sure if maybe its constipated or if this is a typical behavior before egg laying. Is there anything i should do to get it to eat or does anyone have similar experiences? Im not sure if its a gonner or what- Hmmmmmmmmmm

Can you see it's breeding tube?. Are you seeing it clean somewhere in the tank?. These 2 are Breeding tricks.

I dont see a breeding tube and it doesnt seem to be doing anything but puckering at the surface of the water, usually near the thermometer. I have seen them cleaning the leaves before the last time they spawned but then they ate all the eggs, that was about 3 weeks or so ago. Is there something i should do that may inspire my fish to lay eggs. Im not sure if the belly is big because its full of eggs or not but Im concerned if it doesnt eat soon it may get sick if its not already =(

sounds like bloat. might try peas but if hes not eating thats not gona help.

This should be moved to Hospital forums. much better help there for this situation

would you be able to post a picture?
are any of the scales raised?
Is this the male or the female angel that is
bloated?
Have you tried feeding some de-shelled peas?

Could be constipation, again mashed cooked peas will help this problem.
