Hello. I have read that ich goes through a cycle. One of my neon tetras had three ich spots on it for a little less than three days. I raised temp and am still treating with rid ich. I'm on day 5 of treatment. The spots fell off three days ago. I am continuing treatment, however.

My question is this: Ever since the spots fell off there seems to be very little, the size of a needle head, almost clear things clouding the water. I mean i wouldn't say the water is cloudy. Theres just a million almost microscopic dots floating around. Do you think its the ich in the form after they fall off? Is this what a "bloom" is? I'm sort of new to fishkeeping, but all my water readings are normal. Well, my nitrite is .25, but have only had tank for a month. I cycled it with Biospira a week ago. The dots look very similar to what the Biospira looked like, but not as big. Hmmmmm?

No, they're so small, like little specks of dust. They all just float to the left. I guess the filter is pulling them in that direction. I just noticed that my blue dwarf Gourami has 3 ich spots on his tail now. How did he get ich while I've been treating the tank for it for the past 5 days. I did add the medicine late this afternoon, where as the other days I added it every morn around 8am. I'm soo frustrated. It has been nothing but fish and snail drama since Christmas. I just want it all to be okay. I'm going to do a gravel vaccuum and 25% water change tomorrow. I should do this right? The little dust thingys seem to be multiplying. I added some Melafix in hopes of killing them.

What medication are you using? Certain meds are not strong enough to handle ich. Some require that you turn up the temperature to 85 degrees.

Clout is a great medication that will take care of ich and many other parasites in 24-48 hours.....and there is no need to turn up the temperature.
