tankie Fish Addict Posts: 857 Kudos: 848 Votes: 230 Registered: 15-Mar-2005	it looks like it....but u should look closely if it resembles salt speck or sugar and not shinny like a small bubble...if its the the 1st one..then..u have ICH!!! treat immediately...gudluck!!! ps...also..observe the fish if its trying to scratch itself to the gravel, rock, plants or bogwoods..as this can be a symptom of ich as well... Salt is now 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons * water temp set higher to 84 F A second Firemouth has somethin on his skin right on top of his head. Donno what it is but looks like a very very small lesion white coloured, I would rather say it's his flesh. Hard to take his picture, dont stay still. Bought today , Mardel brand, Maracide based on Malachite Green and Chitosan and second medication is same Mardel but called CopperSafe based on Chelated Copper Sulfate. I'll wait one more day to see what's goin on with the salt and higher temp. Behaviour : seems normal, active. They all eat. Only once a day ago one was like scratched to the ceramic pot i have in the tank. Just did it once and then didnt see him doin it again . I'll keep this post as a log maybe it could help others too.

tankie Fish Addict Posts: 857 Kudos: 848 Votes: 230 Registered: 15-Mar-2005	have u open the meds yet....is the malachite green in chloride form??? coz if not...its very strong for fish and its not recommended to raise the temp while doin ich treatment..it increases the toxicity of the meds. do u have cories/non-scale fish in the tank??? copper is toxic to them as well!!!
