I have a major problem with my long fin blue danio. It's a male and his spine is really curved down. He seems to not be able to swim and is just moving with the current. The past couple days he has not been eating and now he just looks really bad. Kitten has sujested that it might be fish TB. Please help me out here! ~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~ |

Older fish often suffer from bent spines, a sign that the fish is nearing the end of its life. Hereditary traits also come into play. The fish should be destroyed if it has stopped eating and has lost the ability to swim. --garyroland. |

But he did look bad enough that I didn't think he would get better and he no longer had any control of his swimming so I had to send him to fishy heaven. :-( Thanks for the info, now I'm just concerned about if my other fish will get sick. I guess I'll just keep an eye on it. Any other advise would be great. Thanks. ~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~ |
