Roberta...

Alot depends on the size and kind of fish. Situation with the tank and if there are any other medical conditions that need to be addressed. Can you tell us more please?

I am sorry Roberta, I doubt anyone would be comfortble giving any advice on such limited information.

Perhaps *he* should let us know what all he can about this tank and its occupants.

that is one of the main reasons i do not want to try salt water fish they seem alot harder to try and take care of. I know all kinds of fish get different sickness but those salt water fish i would go crazy.

Niger Triggerfish? Triggers are some of the hardiest saltwater fish. IMO it probably got sick at the store, and it's not your fault. If you want to continue, I'd quarantine the tank for up to 10 weeks without fish; treating medication on the main tank can kill a bunch of inverts you want in a SW environment.
