I have a 15gal fish tank that I have had for 30 days. started with 6 white cloud mountain minnows and one snail. all were doing well. I then added 4 guppies to the mix, 2 females and 2 males. One of my females soon gave birth. This is when all my troubles began. The nine baby guppies all look fine but nearly all my other fish have now died. The two female guppies are now isolated in another tank. The babies and the still living minnows are in the main tank. Through much research I figured out my guppies were probably infected with gill flukes and spread it throughout the tank. I then took out my snail and treated my tank with Jungle brand parasite clear. The minnows seem to be doing a little bit better. It's been about 24 hours.

My question regards how do I know when it is safe to try and restock my tank? Will I continue to have problems in this tank?

Were the fish scraping against objects or gravel? Where they breathing hard or gasping?

Your tank is young. It is possible that your fish died from cycling toxins. Do you have the ability to test for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH? If not, take a bag of water to the fish store for testing. They often do it for free. Just make sure you ask for the numbers so we can see them here. If your tank is well cycled, it should read zero for ammonia and nitrite, and the nitrates should be rising. It is best to see them below 40ppm and ideally, below 20ppm.

Can you do this?

You mention a Jungle Product. Are you in the US? If so, please change your flag to your location so that we can better help you with meds.
