i have 2 angels, one is a blush and the other is a gold. for the past couple of days now my Gold angel has been taking up most of its time on the bottom of the tank. she/he also hasn't been eating much because i usually feed them about twice a day and it barely eats anything. i'm looking at the gold one now and it doesn't seem to show any signs of parasites or disease on it. Also i forgot to mention, last night i was watching the gold one and it swam towards the front of the tank and it just started to have seizures (well at least it looked like it was having seizures) and then it stopped, and the lil gold one swam away. could it really be sick even if it doesn't show any symptoms on the body? could it be that the gold one got sick of eating the cichlid flakes i usually feed them? the gold one is growing so beautifully and i dont wanna lose it, so could someone please help me here?

Ok first of all read this and answer all of the questions or at least as many as you can so we can help you better.

I wouldn't be so rash as to say you will definately lose the fish as I have managed to save a few that have had seizures. It's a horrid thing to watch and trust me, I feel for you. It doesn't look good but maybe with a little digging we can find out what's going on. Just to guess, it sounds like an internal bacterial infection of some sort, or possibly a water quality issue. Check the link I gave, answer the questions, and then we can decide what needs to be done. HTH

trystianity, AND ANYONE who can help me. i followed the link you gave me and here are some of the answers to those questions.

nitrite - 0
nitrate - 20
ph level - 7.8 (assuming pretty high because of water here in new mexico?)
temperature is usually around 76-78F
tank size - 29gal
stock - 1 blush angel, 1 gold angel
blush angel - about 3 inches top to bottom
gold angel - about 4 inches top to bottom
filtration - aquatech 15

i've been using distilled water because the water here is terrible and i didnt want to add a whole bunch of chemicals just to make everything right. i also use pH decreaser (but i haven't put any in yet for a little over a week now, maybe i should've?). and i use Aquasafe when i do 25% water changes. That's about all that i do.

trystianity i hope i can save this fish, like i said, it doesn't show any signs but im really worried about it! and after all that i've told you, the other angel (blush) does just fine. i'm actually watching the gold one now and its eating some of the flakes that must've fell on to the bottom. help please??!!
