He has had it for about two or three weeks now and it doesn't seem to be affecting him at all--still eating, still chasing the other tank mates (he is the largest fish in the tank). He got this spot about the same time some of the other fish got ich (temp drop due to power outage) but now he is the only fish left with any sign of a problem. I was wondering if anyone could help me out on what this could be and how to get rid of it. If you need anymore info, let me know. TIA Jen |

It is difficult to say for sure without one. Does it appear fuzzy in the least? Sometimes an ich spot can get infected and maybe his immunity is holding it at bay. It may need a little boost and I would suggest some botanical, such as Pimafix, if it is a little fuzzy. |

You read my mind with the pimafix. I picked some up before I read your post because I did some research online. I'll try and post a pic just to double check, but it does sound like what you are describing. ![]() Thanks again for the help Jen |

I have only used it two days and already the spot on the gourami's head is almost gone. My question is, Do I need to continue dosing the tank with Pimafix for the recommended seven days if the spot disappears or do I discontinue use when it is gone? TIA for the help Jen |

While you may not be able to see it, the infection could still be there. Follow all the way through. It won't hurt your biofilter as it is a botanical. ![]() |
