	guppy looking weird
haRg0wbOi Hobbyist Posts: 86 Kudos: 84 Votes: 8 Registered: 28-May-2004	alrite i purchased 3 guppies couple days ago for my 5 gallon tank. i bought 1 male and 2 females, 1 of the females had a big tummy, not gravid. was wondering if that is a disease. well after accmliating the i notice that the fish with the big tummy coulnt swim as good as the others. now today when i take a look at my guppies i notice that the same fish stomache got smaller and it swims beter, the only problem is that she is kinda bent looking. what could this be. also she isnt as active as the others. spazzyme99 Small Fry Posts: 5 Kudos: 2 Votes: 4 Registered: 01-Dec-2004	On the bottom of the guppy where the belly was big, was there a black spot? If there was she was probably ready to give birth! Its hard to see at first but closely look at the tank and try to find some new borns.

haRg0wbOi Hobbyist Posts: 86 Kudos: 84 Votes: 8 Registered: 28-May-2004	there was no black spot, but there was a orange/red spot, the fish is orangish see through. ive had experience with swordtail frys, is there a difference between guppy and sword frys, size? i checked the whole tank, nothing. tummy meaning the place with the organs are. the fish is bent downward too, the tail is not leveled with the mouth.

I've had females that were hard to tell if they were gravid or not. Chances are she was...the bent body, I don't know why, but sometimes it happens...look very close at the bottom, and near the plants...you might find some fry, or they may have become dinner...Hope it goes well...Heidi "I've got a great ambition to die of exhaustion rather than boredom."
